Dr. Ahmad Arslan is currently working as an Associate Professor at Department of Marketing, Management and International Business, Oulu Business School, University of Oulu, Finland. Previously, he has worked in academia in other universities in UK and Finland as a Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Researcher. His areas of research interests include Cross-Border Mergers & Acquisitions, Emerging Economies, Foreign Market Entry Strategies, Internationalization of SMEs, Multinational Enterprises’ (MNEs) Strategies and Organizational Agility & Resilience. Florian investigates organizational transformation processes, especially non-organic growth strategies such as Mergers and Acquisitions, from a strategic, organizational, and procedural perspective. Anke Dassler currently works as an Executive in the Finance resort at Evonik Industries AG, a global specialty chemistry company. In her role, she globally advises business segments regarding impacts of business transactions in the Group’s financial statements. Before joining Evonik, she was a Partner at KPMG Germany, financial auditing and advising Banks and FinTechs. Yves-Martin Felker is a Ph.D. candidate in Management at Lancaster University. Prior to his research career, he was responsible for the coordination of strategic partnerships between companies and the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern in Germany. His research interests cover the performance of merger and acquisitions — the impact of management capabilities on firm performance and the micro-foundations of capabilities. Dr. Karl Michael Popp
Dr. Karl Michael Popp is Senior Director M&A in the Global Business Development and Ecosystem Team in the Office of the CEO of SAP SE. In this area, he works on inorganic growth projects of SAP SE, such as due diligence and merger integration of technology companies as well as strategic partnerships. In his career, he has completed more than 30 acquisitions and corresponding merger integrations worldwide and worked with over 50 companies on partnerships. He is the author of several books and a speaker on software due diligence, post merger integration, digitization of M&A processes as well as business models and platform business models in the software industry. Dr. Popp is a long-standing member of the German M&A Association (Bundesverband M&A) as well as a former board member of the Gesellschaft für Post Merger Integration (now part of the Bundesverband M&A) and works in the program committee of the European Workshop on Merger Integration and of the Think Tank Denkfabrik Wirtschaft. He received his PhD in Strategic Management from Ben-Gurion University and Master's in Biotechnology degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. His research interests include mergers and acquisitions, strategic agility, organizational ambidexterity and innovation. Dr. Tarba is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, British Journal of Management, and Long Range Planning.
